The Sentara Family Health Connection Mobile Clinic program started in 1996 as a way to serve residents in Eastern Prince William and Northern Stafford counties who wouldn’t otherwise receive care. The program has grown to include two mobile clinics that provide primary care services to underserved patients in Eastern Prince William and Northern Stafford counties with no insurance and who are 200% or below the federal poverty level.
The clinics travel to various sites throughout the week and are staffed with nurse practitioners, who are certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and medical assistants. Services include preventative health maintenance, physicals, well-woman exams, cancer screenings, chronic illness management, sick visits, pregnancy testing, medication assistance and referrals to specialists.
The program is made possible through the generous support of The Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center Auxiliary, the Potomac Health Foundation and a number of health partners in the community.
