Patient Advocates
At Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, we believe in providing the best possible care to every patient who walks through our doors. That's why we employ a patient relations team. Our patient advocates help facilitate open communication between patients, family members and appropriate hospital staff.
Patient advocates visit patients to help with problem solving and to address questions, concerns and complaints that are not otherwise addressed throughout your care. For more information, visit the Patient Advocates section of our Patient Guide.
To reach a patient advocate, please call 703-523-0985, Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If no one answers, please leave a message on the answering machine. You may also call the hospital switchboard at 703-523-1000 and ask the operator to page the director of patient relations or the administrative nursing coordinator during evenings, nights, weekends or when the patient representative is not in the hospital.
Chaplaincy
At Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, high tech has partnered with high touch. We believe in taking care of our patients from the inside out – spiritually as well as physically. One way we incorporate the spiritual and emotional side of healthcare is through pastoral care services, a nondenominational service available to all patients.
