The Sentara Wound Healing Center at Sentara Leigh Hospital provides comprehensive assessment and wound care to all patients suffering from non-healing or chronic wounds. Diseases such as diabetes or vascular problems, medications, infections and poor nutrition can delay wound healing and are addressed by the team.
Our team places tremendous emphasis on achieving clinical goals through collaboration, education and coordination with patients, families and healthcare providers.
We work closely with the referring physicians to develop an individualized treatment plan that would offer our patients the most optimal clinical outcome. We use quality measures to assess the progress of each wound and continuously adjust the treatment to attain the clinical goals.
