Dr. Old has been involved in Cardiac Research since arriving to the Hampton Roads area in 1989 being involved in over 50 clinical trials that have established standards of care in areas of Coronary Artery Disease and Guideline Directed Medical Therapy for Heart Failure. He has been continuously involved as well as with the establishment of the Cardiac Transplant Team at Sentara and Mechanical Circulatory Support since its inception in 1989 providing specialized care to those patients in Advanced Heart Failure.
