He is an expert in managing diseases of the vascular system including the arterial and venous systems. Management ranges from optimizing medical therapy to minimally invasive catheter-based procedures and surgical reconstruction. Dr. DeMasi's interests include the management of extremity peripheral arterial disease, aortic aneurysms, stroke prevention and treatment, vascular access as well as vascular education. He has co-authored and published numerous vascular disease and vascular surgery articles and has presented papers to many surgical societies.
Dr. DeMasi is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery and the Society of Vascular Surgery. He is credentialed and an expert in noninvasive vascular testing. Dr. DeMasi has been chairman of the department of surgery and president of the medical staff at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital. He currently serves as Clinical Chief, Sentara Medical Group, Vascular Surgery and Medical Director, Vascular Service Line for Sentara. He is also medical director of the southside Sentara Peripheral Vascular Lab.
