We know caring for a loved one can be challenging, and we are here to help. The Sentara Martha Jefferson CaregiverProgram is dedicated to the support and well-being of caregivers who provide for a loved one confronted with an illness. This free hospital-based program offers help from trained volunteers in supporting the needs of the caregiver in a caring, compassionate, and non-judgmental way. We care for your loved ones, let us support you too!
Our Caregiver Center is solely funded through generous donations to the Martha Jefferson Hospital Foundation from our community. Learn more at Visit mjhfoundation.org.
A team of trained caregiver partners can help you in the following ways:
- You will be greeted with a compassionate ear and can feel comfortable to share.
- You are not alone when it comes to caring for your loved one. We are here to support you. We have resources that may be helpful.
- Our team is trained to navigate the healthcare systems, we understand advanced directives or end of life issues. Managing family challenges and assisting with referrals to other community resources may be helpful to you.
- Even after loved ones are discharged from the hospital, caregivers may want ongoing support. You are encouraged to call or visit beyond discharge and throughout your caregiving journey.
Our goal is to make you feel confident going home, knowing that you have us as a resource.
