Have you been diagnosed as having prediabetes, or told you’re at risk for developing Type 2 diabetes? Sentara RMH is offering the CDC-recognized Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP).
DPP is an evidence-based program proven to help people with prediabetes reduce their risk of developing Type 2 diabetes through achievable and lasting lifestyle changes. Led by a trained coach, the program meets 26 times a year and helps participants lose weight, make healthy food choices, and become more active.
Research shows that people with prediabetes who take part in a structured lifestyle change can reduce the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes by 58% (71% for people over age 60).
