As part of the process to onboard new employees, Sentara Health is required to validate that all new hires are authorized to work in the United States. The Form I-9 is the required form from the U.S. government for this purpose. We have employed an electronic I-9 process for your convenience.
STEP 1: Section 1 of the I-9 is required and must be submitted NO LATER THAN the end of your First day of work
You will receive and email directly from I9EveryWhere. Please access the link to complete Section 1 of your online Form I-9. After completing Section 1 of the online Form I-9, you will be responsible for choosing the person who will complete Section 2 of your Form I-9.
To set up an Authorized Representative within our system, you will need the information listed below. You will be required to enter this information at the time that you complete Section 1:
- First name
- Last name
- Valid email address
Your authorized representative can be anyone over the age of 18 that you feel comfortable and confident viewing your personal information
STEP 2: Both Section 1 and Section 2 of the I-9 are required and must be submitted NO LATER THAN the end of your third day of work
As a remotely onboarded employee, you will need to make special arrangements to have your Authorized Representative complete Section 2 of your Form I-9 and verify your documentation. Your Authorized Representative will receive an email from I9EveryWhere, and they will need to follow the provided link in order to complete Section 2 of your Form I-9.
