As part of the process to onboard new employees, Sentara Health is required to validate that all new hires meet the standards set forth. You will be required to submit for a background check with requirements relevant to your position.
STEP 1:
You will receive an email directly from Precheck (also known as Cicive). Please access the link to complete personal information for your Background check. Screening requirements are tailored to your position with Sentara Health and are developed based on policy and regulation standards. Information requested can include the following:
- Full legal name: you will be asked to provide any maiden names or prior aliases
- Seven (7) years most recent address history
- Previous/current employment information
- Education information:
- School name and location
- Degree/major, graduate level
- Pertinent dates as required
- License information:
- License type
- License number, state issued
- Pertinent dates as required
You will need to be prepared to provide alternate documentation for education and licenses as needed if not initially able to be verified by Precheck.

Important information to note: After your background check information has been submitted, there may be additional follow up that is needed after review. Please be sure to respond to any additional requests that you receive from Precheck in a timely manner.
