Most insurance covers some form of outpatient therapy, but coverage can vary greatly depending on the type of therapy and whether the provider is in- or out-of-network. Some insurance plans require a physician's referral and limit coverage to a specific number of sessions.
To avoid unexpected costs, we recommend checking with your insurance to verify the requirements and conditions for coverage.
We also offer financial assistance and self-pay options if you do not have insurance or outpatient therapy is not covered by your plan.
You can view a record of your Sentara appointments anytime from Sentara MyChart.

During a virtual therapy appointment, the patient connects with the therapist via video. They discuss the patient's current condition, participate in therapeutic activities and set goals. The therapist provides education and feedback while ensuring a supportive environment.
