The Sentara Healthcare Administrative Fellowship Program offers exposure within a large Integrated delivery network. It features significant and broad exposure to multiple business units to create a meaningful experience, allowing Fellows to learn more about their abilities and interests while they understand the nuances and roles of an array of healthcare services and environments. The two-year Fellowship also offers the opportunity to build upon and apply foundational skills acquired in an academic program while gaining significant hands-on work-based learning experience.
Yes, Sentara's program is an option for applicants seeking a Fellowship to complete a graduate degree.
Administrative Fellows are considered full-time employees and are paid a competitive salary for the two-year duration of the program. Sentara's Fellows are eligible for employee benefits including health insurance coverage, retirement savings, and paid time off. Fellows may also be eligible for relocation assistance.
No, Sentara's program does not sponsor work visas for Administrative Fellows.
Sentara invites two Fellows each year to complete the two-year program (e.g., beginning June 2024, complete June 2026).
Fellows receive support and guidance from their executive sponsors, the program director, rotation preceptors, the program coordinator, and former Fellows.

Fellows are eligible for all Sentara benefits including health, dental and vision insurance, tuition assistance as well as retirement plans and other benefits. Fellows receive a full expense trip to one local and one national conference of their choice. There is also an annual $500 stipend for professional membership fees (e.g. ACHE, MGMA, NAHSE).
