Amber Price
Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer
Amber Price oversees nursing practice and care across Sentara, Employee Health/Worker’s Compensation, and other system clinical support services, including infection prevention and control, accreditation and regulatory, system resource allocation, emergency management/business continuity, virtual nursing/remote patient monitoring, clinical education, environmental health and safety, and advance nursing and professional practice. Amber serves as Executive Sponsor for Sentara’s Women’s Employee Resource Group, and the Women’s Health High Performance Team.
Prior ExperienceIn March 2022, Amber joined the Sentara team as President of the Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center in Williamsburg (SWRMC). At SWRMC, Amber launched a Trauma program, an OB Hospitalist program, and a Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery (MIGS) program. She designed spaces to promote respectful care and inclusion for people with disabilities and sensory needs and promoted employee wellness programs. These efforts led SWRMC to become the first hospital in the state to earn a Sensory Inclusive Certification.
Prior to her role at Sentara, Amber spent seven years at Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) where she served in roles as TriStar Division Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. During her time with HCA, Amber oversaw the design and construction of two hospitals and served as a member of the HCA corporate design team. She oversaw the creation of a maternal/neonatal helicopter flight program from concept to implementation. She led concept development for innovative hospitalist models and worked with General Electric to develop a new fetal monitoring technology. Under Amber’s leadership, her unit teams achieved some of the highest patient experience scores in the HCA system. Amber is a Certified Nurse-Midwife and spent time at VCU, and Hampton Roads OBGYN in Hampton, Virginia.
